For the third year in succession, Veolia Environnement is a partner of Global City, the international forum for urban planning policy makers, and will be particularly involved with the Mayor's Summit, on May 15. The event's theme this year is "Climate issues: an opportunity for a fresh look at energy questions", and it is an excellent chance for elected representatives to share their views on sustainable development, to swap experiences and good practices in terms of integrated urban management and to promote concrete, all-encompassing solutions for their own towns and cities.

Educating future generations to protect the environment
Veolia's subsidiaries play a role throughout the entire world in spreading awareness about sustainable development. Within each country, they can initiate partnerships, create pedagogical documents, and finance local initiatives, as in Nantes, France, where Arc-en-Ciel, Veolia Environmental Services' first global subsidiary for waste repurposing, has opened its doors to more than 135,000 students since 1994.
